What is 360 Projection Mapping?
360 projection mapping is an immersive visual technique that uses multiple projectors to cover all surrounding surfaces — walls, ceilings, or even floors — with synchronized video content. Unlike traditional mapping, which focuses on one facade or object, 360 mapping surrounds the audience completely, creating a sense of presence inside the story. This approach transforms any venue into a dynamic storytelling space, engaging viewers from every angle and allowing them to experience light, motion, and sound as one continuous environment.
Creating a 360° projection mapping experience involves several key stages: precise 3D scanning of the venue to capture its geometry, developing detailed motion graphics tailored to the space, calibrating multiple projectors for seamless blending, and synchronizing visuals with sound and lighting effects. The result is a fully immersive environment where technology and creativity merge to tell stories that audiences can not only watch – but truly feel.

Lumotion Studio transforms Kyiv cycle track with 360 projection mapping show
As the Kyiv Cycle Track reopened its doors, Lumotion Studio illuminated the historic arena with a 360° projection mapping spectacle where architecture, motion, and storytelling merged into one breathtaking experience.
The performance highlighted the historic importance of the Cycle Track, combining cool projection mapping, vivid animations, and synchronized light design to celebrate the rebirth of one of Kyiv’s iconic venues. Through immersive visuals and symbolic motion graphics, the façade came alive, narrating the story of the city’s sporting heritage and future vision.
Lumotion Studio’s large-scale realtime projection mapping show for the Kyiv Cycle Track’s reopening combined light design, projection, and visual storytelling, transforming one of Kyiv’s most iconic sports venues into a cultural landmark. The event transformed the renovated track into a cultural stage, where architecture became a canvas for motion graphics, expressive animation, and synchronized stage visuals.
Immersive 360 degree projection mapping
Through our expertise in stage design visuals and immersive event experiences, we helped position the Cycle Track not only as a sports facility but also as a vibrant cultural hub. The show proved how multimedia shows, content for festivals, and 360 projection mapping can generate strong emotional impact and lasting memories.
Combining blending history and innovation with painting with light projection mapping
As a leading projection mapping company and creative studio, we created a 360 mapping performance celebrating the heritage of cycling in Kyiv while looking toward its future.
The 360 projection allowed the audience to be fully surrounded by visuals – immersing them in the story of the city’s cycling legacy. This format helped bridge past and present, showing how innovation drives tradition forward. It transformed the event from a typical light show into a collective emotional journey, where every viewer became part of the story.

How Lumotion Studio enhancing city branding by large-scale projection mapping animation
The production required complex AV setup and event content creation, including high-resolution animations, multi-projector blending, and architectural calibration to match the unique geometry of the venue.
This precise 3D mapping approach allowed every detail of the architecture to become part of the story – transforming the building into a living canvas. By merging large-scale mapping with live event content, the installation didn’t just decorate the space – it redefined it, creating a shared visual experience that strengthened city identity, supported cultural storytelling, and brought the community together through light and motion.

Transforming Architecture with Outdoor Projection Mapping
The Kyiv Cycle Track Opening Show became a landmark cultural event, drawing wide public attention and reinforcing the venue’s role as a center of sports and community life. It showcased how projection mapping shows and light design can transform public architecture into a powerful platform for experiential storytelling and city branding.
