About the project
For the official presentation of the launch of iCAUR in Oman Lumotion Studio transformed the stage into a dynamic visual environment. For this presentation we used a combination of 3D animation, projection mapping on the surface, LED content and synchronized lighting.
A distinctive feature of this presentation was projection that mapped directly onto fabric that covered the vehicles. It allows us to reveal their silhouettes through light, motion and graphic effects before the physical unveiling.
We worked in collaboration with The Agency team on this project. Big thank you to them and for their trust, we hope this is the beginning of many more projects and collaborations together.
Challenge
- Mapping onto a flexible surface
The main challenge for our studio was to make projection mapping onto fabric that covered cars. The main thing was that it was not just a standard screen or projection directly onto the car’s surface.
The graphics had to remain dimensional and visually precise even when fabric has its folds, curves and the vehicle silhouettes underneath created a complex surface.
- Competing with a large LED screen
As a bright LED wall dominated the background of the stage our next challenge was to integrate it into the show without allowing it to overpower the projection or distract audience attention from the cars.
- Working in an outdoor environment
The outdoor location required delicate technical solutions and control: projection brightness, stage lighting and projector positioning and finally technical setup had to remain unobtrusive for the audience and event space.
Solution
- Turning the fabric into part of the concept
We decided to use covers as the main projection surface instead of treating them as a limitation.
We highlighted the hidden forms of the cars with animated contours, energy lines and graphic structures and created anticipation before the reveal.
- Using the LED wall as a supporting layer
The background content didn’t compete with mapping because it was designed to complement it rather.
Fast-moving lines and abstract graphics extended the visual movement across the stage while keeping the vehicle silhouettes as the main focal point.
- Synchronizing the entire stage
Our team combined into a single timecoded sequence projection mapping, LED content and stage lighting.
As a result, this created one continuous visual composition. Every element supported the same story and the cars remained at the center of attention as we planned.

Result
We transformed the final show from a standard car reveal into a synchronized immersive experience.
The audience first encountered gradually activated through projection vehicles, illuminated silhouettes before they appeared in real life.
It was a first production experience for our studio in Oman, where we made a projection mapping on cars as an object and it was another example of how projection mapping, animation, lighting and stage content can work together as one integrated visual medium.
